Porthole runs Windows games on your iPhone and iPad. Bring your own game files, download the games you own on Steam, and see how each one runs on devices like yours before you try it.
Import a game folder from the Files app, or run a Windows installer. Porthole finds the right program in the folder for you, and keeps uninstallers and helper tools out of the way.
Sign in and download the Windows games you own. They start through Steam itself, so your licence is checked the normal way.
Each game shows a badge: works great, works with problems, or doesn't work, based on reports from other people. See how it runs on your model, and add your own report in under a minute. Browse the reports.
Touch controls you can switch while you play, a page for every game with its own performance settings, and a layout that uses the whole iPad screen.
Porthole has no ads and no account of its own. A compatibility report is only sent when you choose to send one, and it contains your device model, iOS version and your answers, nothing that names you.
Porthole is built on Madeira, a project that runs Windows programs on iOS by combining Wine, the FEX-Emu translator and DXMT, which turns Direct3D into Metal. Games run through that compatibility layer, so speed depends on the game and on the device. Some games need more memory than a phone has.
It needs iOS 18 or later and JIT switched on, which Porthole can do by itself once you give it a pairing file (on iOS 27 it can make one on the device).
Porthole never includes games, and you need to own what you run. Steam and its artwork belong to Valve; Epic Games, GOG and every game or launcher you run belong to their owners. Apple, iPhone, iPad and iOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Porthole is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.
